The National Resources Investment and Development Corporation (Mawared) was established under the Law No. (37) for the year 2000, and is directly lined to the Prime Minister, it was established for the purpose of developing treasury land that are earmarked for the use by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF). Mawared is: •A financially and administratively independent state-owned corporation and follows the civil service bureau. • The largest real estate developer in the Kingdom; leading Jordan’s drive towards urban generation and inner-city development. • A successful model for private/public partnerships. • A real manifestation of Jordans Pioneering vision of transforming military sites into vibrant investment projects. • Directly developing its sites through strategic partnerships by contributing the land as its equity in the projects. • Creating investment opportunities for the private sector, and creating job opportunities for Jordanian citizens, and reinvigorating the construction and services sectors. • Supporting the national economy by investing in projects that have both economic and cultural benefits that will contribute a sustainable return to the treasury for the benefit of JAF. • Focusing on renewing the urban environment of inner cities, and creating vibrant urban spaces. • growing towards becoming a regional reference in urban regeneration and inner cities development.
